Holocron Entry III
So, now I will discuss what I will be discussing, other than random synapses of my brain, I will address the following: Movies, TV Shows, Music, Video Games, Food/Restaurants, and any topics anyone wishes for me to look into and give an opinion on. (Which probably won't be anything for a while seeing as no one has access to this at the moment)
I will start with the Battlefield 3 demo for Xbox 360. The game looks to be the best looking game on any console to date. (In game graphics, not cutscenes) While it looks very good and plays well, the demo had many drawbacks. The inability to sprint, crouch, leap over barriers, and even aim down the sights of your weapon could cause quite a hindrance while trying to fight. The demo was not party friendly either. My good friend Michael Rutledge can attest to this. While the game said we were in the same party, it would often put us in a game but not in the same squad. Not that big of a deal. Many times it would put us on opposing teams.... Irritating but we just waited for an opening and switched teams. Then there were the times that it put us in different games entirely. Sadly though, that wasn't the worst of it. Over 50% of the time the game would go black and kick us back to the menu, back to the Xbox dashboard, or even occasionally crash your system entirely.
The game looks beautiful, and hopefully they make many changes for the actual game, but currently I am only planning on purchasing Modern Warfare 3.
Moving on.... I finally saw the movie Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman, about a ballerina who has a few problems. The movie, while disturbing in some parts, was fantastically done and had some amazing acting. I was disturbed halfway through by some rather loud neighbors but I overall enjoyed the movie very much and would highly recommend it. While not a movie for the whole family, it is a psychological thriller that keeps throwing twists at you and will entertain you through the entire film.
Finally, we have the new Blink-182 album that was released a little while ago. The CD has a total of 14 tracks and has a running time of 50 minutes. The CD overall is pretty good. Myself and a few others I have discussed the CD with agreed it sounds a bit more like Angels & Airwaves than Blink's previous albums. In addition, I personally think that the first half of the CD is bit stronger than the second half, but all of it is very enjoyable. I particularly like Natives, Up All Night, and the Heart's All Gone Interlude (which is all instrumental). I highly recommend this CD to anyone who is a Blink-182 fan or an Angels & Airwaves fan. I also have the CD if anyone is interested in borrowing it.
I will conclude this entry here and say that I will research those topics that I will be discussing more in the future to give a better background of it. Also I will add a few of my favorite movies, TV shows, and artists to give you an idea of my tastes. My next entry will discuss the TV shows Terra Nova, Showtime's new series Homeland, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Till then....
